Within the framework of the Open Doors: Building Accessibility in Europe project (2025-1-IT01-KA210-VET-000356329), funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, the report “Open Doors – Tourism 360°” has been officially released, presenting the results of the consultation process carried out across the project’s partner territories.

The project aims to improve the accessibility and inclusivity of tourism services in Italy, Portugal (Azores), and Poland by training 90 tourism operators – including accommodation providers, tour guides, and travel agencies – and by raising awareness among local communities about the importance of universal hospitality.

Adopting a holistic approach based on the knowledge and experience of local stakeholders, the project focuses on developing a dedicated training programme for tourism operators, with particular attention to accessibility skills. At the same time, it promotes the creation of local and transnational networks to foster greater inclusion of people with disabilities within the tourism sector.

The “Tourism 360°” report is the outcome of an extensive consultation process involving civil society organisations, tourism operators, and institutional stakeholders active in the project areas – Italy, Portugal/Azores, and Poland – offering a comprehensive overview of the key challenges and opportunities related to accessible tourism.

Accessibility and inclusion in tourism are essential tools for building a more equitable society. By removing physical and social barriers and valuing diversity, tourist destinations can become more welcoming and enriching for all visitors.
